BayArea Backstretch Friday at GGF there should be a milestone reached. Barring scratches, Russell Baze will ride his 50,000th horse. He is scheduled to do it in the sixth race on Finish Rich in NYC. To put that in perspective, that will be more than Frank Alvarado, Dennis Carr, Francisco Duran, Kyle Frey and Arnold Perez put together (48,080).
Not his greatest fan but respect his conditioning and dedication to his sport.

Perfect name for the horse, if Russell wants to announce his retirement.
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.

Typical Baze stats last year: Leads the nation in wins, 35th or so in earnings. Starting to get the picture. "Big fish in a very tiny pond."

If Russell got all of Ramon's mounts last year, do you really think what Ramon did would be any different had Russell piloted all those mounts or vice versa?

if iggy puglisi had rode those same horses the result would have been the same 99% of those races. for that matter you could name any of 2000 jockies and the results would have been the same

I'm moving Ramon up to a full 2%.

Ramon's horses' earnings $25,000,000 Russell's $5,000,000. The differential is in the talent.
