speechless but think the word might be g-r-u-e-s-o-m-e - poor mr. snake , poor passengers who had to see it ...

Mr Weber, who videoed the struggle, said both pilots took it in turns to visit the rear of the plane and watch as, several times, the snake hauled itself to safety, only to be dragged out again. As it slowly lost its grip, the wind repeatedly whipped it against the side of the plane, spraying blood across the engine. ....

My mother used to cure rattlesnake skins. When we got one that was really freshly killed (still wriggling sans head) we might cook it. Tried it fried like chicken, but preferred it marinated (with oil, vinegar, white wine and herbs) and cooked on the grill. Does pretty much taste like chicken white meat -- i.e. doesn't have much discernable flavor.

Growing up as a frenchy, I had the pleasure of sampling escargot and froglegs. Both an acquired taste that I continue
to enjoy in adulthood.

I've acquired an appreciation for both. Introduced to Escargots a la Bourguignonne as a child at Cafe El Rey Sol in Ensenada, of all places. (The restaurant is still there, although at a different location.) They way they're prepared, rubber bands or leftover chewing gum would probably be tasthy.

First had frogs legs in Le Havre France back in the day. Have never found any quite so good here, although I keep trying.

I could almost feel sorry for the snake. Almost.
