Agree, Lester is the straw that stirs the drink around here. FACT.

Re: Technology & PPsdooh I keep forgetting that's an option... THANKS! am pretty sure can download directly from Twinspires using Chrome because they're pre-saved as .pdfs but need to doublecheck - again, Adobe and Android are like Goof and Lester up in the Goof's booth together, they have man crushes on each other but pretend not to get along, we won't mention the interloper named "Flash Player" - sorry for the bad visual but it's a good analogy...
Re: Technology & PPsI'm sorry but reading though this crazy nonsense about Nooks, Crooks, Ijobs, Tablets, etc, is making me dizzy and wanting to puke.
God made trees, right? Trees are for making paper, right? Go out any purchase a REAL Daily Racing Form in print the way God intended handicapping to be done and relax and wager. Does everyone have to complicate everything? Sometimes progress isn't really progress. Vince P Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Re: Technology & PPsAfter reading this thread, I stay in the 20th century.
Re: Technology & PPsAnd get off my lawn, you whippersnappers!
Now, I'm going to go watch Amos n Andy on my newfangled color tele-i-a-vision...
Re: Technology & PPs
If you really loved trees you wouldn't take a chainsaw and cut them down just to have paper to line your bird cage with. Vince, I just have one word of advice for your future, "plastics". Paper should only be used to clean up with after a trip to the toilet, but then only after using up your supply of corn cobs. Sarcasm:the ability to insult idiots without them realizing it
Re: Technology & PPsActually Stefan’s original idea to use the basic Nook reader for pps is quite ingenious, he was trying to keep it as inexpensive and simple as possible - am sorry to hear there was a slight flaw in the execution 'cause after the Nexus gets dropped on the pavement at some point (and it WILL happen) am sure will be looking for a similar alternative lol… uh let us know if you’re able to eventually hack it …
Re: Technology & PPsIf people keep buying these tablet thingy's than wont that put the people who steal Hollywood Mikes Racing Form out of business?
Geez one of the fun part of racing was to watch some frustrated gambler rip his form to shreds then storm out of the track. No wonder nobody ever goes there!! 1994 Stanley Cup Champion
Re: Technology & PPs
Someone who appreciates my brand of insanity! Just to tie up the loose ends before people come to my house with pitchforks because I'm beating this to death... I absolutely feared that an expensive piece of technology would either get broken or stolen if I bring it to the track. I'd be constantly worrying about the machine and not the races. Thus, the Nook simple touch. Cheap and I can put it in my pocket pretty easily. Hacking it isn't too bad if you follow the instructions (google Nooter for the details). Once you do that, the Nook works just like any other Andriod tablet. I found a PDF reader that zooms and lets you add notes. Elhelmete uses qPDF, but landscape mode doesn't work on the Nook for some reason. But, that led me to Repligo, which works like a charm. Only $2.99! So, all in, I'm only out about $55, and I really do think this will work for me. Sure, the display isn't great and kind of small and scrolling across pages is a bit touchy, but I can download PPs for every single track for the entire weekend and have it in my pocket, ready to go. No more ink stained fingers! No need for a backpack to carry around pages and pages of PPs! Totally worth it in my book!
