RGIII knee exploded

Postby Fredo » Mon Jan 07, 2013 4:07 pm

He was warned by several coaches and ex QB's in the NFL to stay in the pocket longer before taking off and running. Shannahan approves running the option all season long. It was only a matter of time before this guy got hurt big time. His ego would not let him come out of the game.Your right RGIII a gimpy QB with a questionable weak arm is better than a backup. Shannahan needed to sack up and pull this guy. What a fiasco.Lets see how long Russell Wilson lasts? I'm sure some 260 lb linebacker already has him in the cross hairs...3 years tops.he'll be toast in 3 years.

Shanny should have known RGIII was done in the first half when he could barely crawl to the line to take a snap.

That was a nasty injury which totally reminded me of seeing Thiesmann go down...which was *by far* the sickest football injury I ever saw...

I think the only qb who will stand the test of time running the ball is Cam Newton. He's as big and strong as most
linebackers in the NFL.

Disagree. His ego is bigger than his brain. He'll be a back up by his 5th season.

We will see. Can't wait for him to get out of his rookie contract and become free agent. Put him on the right team
with the right coach and OC and he could prove dangerous.

Dante Culpepper was bigger than Newton and probably just as fast. He ran over linebackers and secondary members but ended up with cracked vertebrae and various other injuries which led to his demise. I don't think there is any NFL that can take more than a couple years of pounding. Once they lose a step they are less elusive and then the real hard shots start.

As long as RGIII wins RotY THIS year, Bince will be happy.
Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

I agree it is not the prescribed way for longevity in the NFL to run the ball if you are a qb. I don't think that Cam should
be running as much as he is in Carolina. Not sure if that is the playbook or Cam is ad libing. Having shifty feet to avoid
pass rush is the key like Aaron Rodgers or Ben Roth do. They are not particularly fast but have some sort of sick sense
to get out of the pocket and make big plays when avoiding the pass rush.
