1.) Put Broxton on the DL until his big toe is back to normal.
2.) Trade Russell Martin. The only time he doesn't hit into a double play is when there's already two outs.
Otherwise, we're going to be watching the playoffs at home.
1) sometimes you have to take a step back to go forward or however that saying goes. originally, the dodger doggs wanted trevor hoffman to be their closer this year with broxton remaining in the setup role. when homeboy signed with the brewers i think sasquatch got kinda thrown back into the role by default. personally, if i was broxton, i'd approach torre and let the brim reaper close out games for the rest of the year and go back to the setup role. he's only 25 so his time will come. it's all about teamwork, holmes.
2) i agree about martin as well as loney. if you break down their everyday lineup, they are solid at every position with the exception of the 2 and 3. manny is starting to revert back to his boston days and doesn't seem to care at times while juan pierre to me, is demonstrating a better desire to win when they call upon him. this guy deserves to be in the lineup everyday in some capacity. furcal and pierre find ways to get on base and that speed on top of the lineup is dangerous considering the dodger doggs basically play little ball to win games. can pierre play first?
