Lakers Hire Mike Brown as Coach?

Postby Hollywoodmike » Wed May 25, 2011 9:00 pm

Who is this guy and what success has he had winning championships? I think the purple and gold deserve a better known coach and should not
have settled for this guy and his cheap salary. I see trouble on the horizon. Kobe may not like this guy and a mutiny might be in the cards.
Kobe and Fisher wanted Brian Shaw to replace Jackson and Jim Buss wanted nothing to do with him.

Agree.

I also feel the most overrated coach in the history of organized sports was Phil Jackson. I realize he won 117 championships but you or I could have won at least seven more than that if our GMs gave us the talent he was fortunate enough to have.

I read Bill Plaschke every day along with TJ, Dwyre, Crowe and my favorite, Erskine - at least when they write columns. For some reason I disagree with 99.777777% of the stuff Plaschke writes and this article is no different.

The problem with hiring Mike Brown is apparently they didn't ask the rapist for his opinion.

What are the chances that Brown keeps Brian Shaw and the other assistants? Probably 0

He reportedly has already reached out to Hornets #1 asst and the Pistons head coach if he gets the boot. Both have ties to Brown.

New offense, old (and pissed off?) Kobe + some new faces on the team should be interesting

Lakers have let entire coaching staff under Jackson go. Also terminated Ronnie Lester who was a scout for them for 20 years. The
end is here as other NBA clubs like OKC and Memphis are more athletic and more talented than the old, listless Lake show.

Excuse me, how many NBA Championships has Mr. Brown won without holding on to another coach's coattails???? ZILCH!!! And his only trip to the big
dance ended in a skunk.
