Little League...Yeah Right!

Little League on ESPN...two quick thoughts:

- I am not a fan, it's so hokey and corny, there has to be some rerun that ESPN can put on instead of this

- I did stop for a moment to check out the man child pitching for Southern California vs. Northern California. This dude makes Danny Almonte look like a first grader. Seriously, he looks like he should be pitching for JB's Lake Elsinore Storm.

I'm just saying.

Back in the day when Pacific Classic was on earlier in the summer and was carried on ESPN, we'd inevitable follow the Little League coverage, and the game would go into extra innings, preempting most of the race coverage.

The kid pitching when I saw this was 13 (I thought the age group was 11-12, must be a recent birthday), 6 ft 2, 205 lbs. He dwarfed all the other kids. At the time he was pitching a shutout. But even a man playing baseball with preteens loses its appeal so I turned it, no idea how it turned out.

Mary, I remember those days with Pacific Classic or other interesting sports being overrun by the LLWS. How frustrating.

Back in the late 80's and early 90's, I watched NWA wrestling on the Superstation (I was just a teenager then) and I would get so mad when Atlanta Braves games would cut into my Ric Flair and 4 horsemen time. Usually they would start after wrestling on Saturdays, but sometimes they would have an earlier game or on Sunday be playing before hand it would always be a slow game or no doubt extra innings. I hated it with a passion.
