Karl Malden has died at the age of 97 .... he leaves behind some of the most solid work in Hollywood. He was never a 'star' with all the glamour, but he was a very good, actually excellent actor ...
He starred with Brando, when Brando was at his very best ... and held his own
One of his final gigs was playing a priest on The West Wing ... and he was still a solidly excellent actor ... completely believable ....
May he rest in peace

I remember the day that he was filming "Streets Of SF" at Bay Meadows.
All day I was trying to see what they were doing and when they would film......then
during the running of a race when my attention was on the horses....He was sprinting right by me.
I watched the show to see if I got into the shot but couldn't ID myself.
