go scary weaver!
Ulgh!
Other than Ethier knocking Lincecum outta the game, what a nightmare yesterday was. This has never happened to me - I couldn't get into the game until the 9th - yes the 9th loving inning.
I got to AT & T late because I had a ridiculous motherlessloving boringass meeting at work that I finally excused myself from at 11:55. But by the time I packed my stuff and caught the 17 minute subway to AT & T Park, the game had started (12:45) and there were absolutely no tickets available. The ticket booth said "Sold Out - only future game tickets available."
So unless you wanted to pay a scalper $100 for an "iffy" ticket - a ticket that had not already been scanned or used, or pay a scalper $80 for a Bleacher/SRO ticket, you were stuck outside along with 17,000 other fans. I’ve never seen a sporting even so in demand.
Then I couldn't find my keys (yes, I lost them again - quit laughing and hold the comments there DGStan), so even if I wanted to come all the way home to watch it on TV, I couldn't. So I decided to wait for my wife who works in Sin City and ride home with her. To kill time, I had lunch outside the Park, walked around, chatted with some bums (seriously, some real live park bums) and finally someone mentioned to me that there was "free" viewing on the other side of AT & T, near the water in right field, kinda like the Knothole Gang thing. Duh, but it was like the 7th inning and there were probably 2-3,000 people taking advantage of the freebie thing. Actually AT & T has it set up nice provided you get there early and not like the 7th inning.
So I walked about a mile to the right field area, but by that time it was the 8th inning. I watched the 8th inning and finally was able to get inside to watch the 9th inning live as a Dodger fan gave me their ticket when they were leaving.
Fortunately I saw Ethier’s clutch hit that knocked Lincecum out. Unfortunately I also saw the walk-off, but it was a great game (I hear).
Next live game for me: Game 3 of the 2009 World Series at Chavez Ravine - a couple of days before the Breeders’ Cup.
