Sarah Palin quitting politics????

Postby Moonbatlulu » Fri Jul 03, 2009 12:47 pm

Breaking news on all cable news channels, plus assorted web sites

Sarah Palin is resigning as governor of Alaska ...effective July 26th ....

Rumor flying that she is quitting politics altogether.

One commentator ..MIke ..(can't spell his last name) ... on MSNBC said this resignation has taken everyone by surprise ...no one was expecting it and Palin's announcement seemed to jump from one subject to another ... didn't seem to have any cohension in it
I have been channel hopping and all the commentators are saying the same ..."we are waiting for another shoe to drop" ... they all maintain that there is something behind this but she didn't say it ...

I'll guess marital problems. They are saying she's out of politics altogether now. This isn't something she's doing to set up a presidential bid.

Great quote from her today: “We are not retreating; we are advancing in another direction.”

Edit: Now they're saying she's landed a sweet gig as a lobbyist for Big Oil. That would explain why she kept saying she was going to affect change "outside of government".

Keeping with the new policy here and NOT discussing politics, I'll give my guess and really hope I'm right.

It's something that Princess Diana never got to do, nor did Michael Jackson. Sandy Koufax, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt would like to do it today, and that is just say F-U to the paparazzi and reporters for going where no man needs to go. And it ain't got nuthin to do with politics and whether or not you think she was qualified for office, they are relentless and our future lies with TMZ unless a few stand up and be strong and say No Mas!

The media really went overboard tracking her and her family details down, not just when she was on the ticket, but well afterwards as well, much more scrutiny than any other Govenor, including those that visit So. America.

I don't think this is a case of "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen". I really think she has plans in the private sector. Wouldn't surprise me at all if she was having marital problems and needed to work on some resolution there too.

What's her salary, maybe $150,000? Hell, there are plenty of jobs out there where she can legally make waaay more than that, and she doesn't even have to do something as slimey as an Oil Lobbyist. For example, how about an editor of a magazine, how about the lecture circuit, there's just got to be lots of choices ou there for her that don't directly involve public service.

Congrats on making a difficult decision, most people just stick it out in their careers and are in miserable situations afraid to make that tough choice.

We'll probably never know the real truth, I just kinda hope I'm kinda right.
And remember...Things work out best when you make the best of the way things work out.

I didn't really mean to post this as a political post, even though it is about a politician ...

Actually I was just so glad to see some news not related to Michael Jackson that I got carried away ... forgive me ...

Without allowing political discussions the DMFF has essentially been gelded.
