The "J" is a tribute to Russell's mom whose name is Jean Francais or something Italian like that.

Junior, as you know, is very gay, and the Dodgers are making a conscientous effort to be politically correct, switching between sexy ball girls and gay ball guys so everyone is happy.

I believe this started because of what occurred a few years ago when two porn wannabe lesbos were making out in the expensive seats in front of a lot of families. The Dodgers tossed them out of the Stadium and a massive hulabaloo ensued.
