Grrrr Bodog!.. or my own degenerate habits..

Postby Jocan16 » Thu Nov 19, 2009 9:24 pm

I have been playing poker on bodog a bit lately on and off. They added some new appealing tourney's and seem to be on the rebound.

I got an email stating they were giving me $10 free in their casino today.. I could only cash out after cycling through $200. I starting playing $1 a hand BJ while playing poker. I noticed I was lasting quite a while and checked my bonus status..only $135 to go until bonus is satisfied. I became obsessed and determined to beat these SOB's, so I exited my cash game in an attempt to last another 135 hand's (give or take with double downs and splits) and win something, anything, and claim glory.

With the bonus satisfied and me sitting on a whopping $29 in profits.. I decided that maybe I like Bodog, maybe this was a "fair shake" online casino. I gave them the benefit of the doubt..in some odd "I trust you, I will give you chance to take it back..prove to me you are legit" way, I decided to play $2 per hand for a few rounds.

Needless to say.. I was beaten by 20's and Bj's for 14 straight hands. Reduced to $1 that I would not give back, I decided to use it to pay for a fraction of my poker blind.

I doubt this will make you feel better, well you might because you aren't married to me.

I made my husband take me to the state fair two weeks ago and pay $16 to get in so I could get a $3 candied apple.

Then I saw IT. The quarter-machine tent. Finally a skilled slot machine. I took five dollars from the one that was already out $19 and cashed it into quarters and eyed a slot with two five dollar bills hanging precariously. I went through that five dollars in less than a minute and sent Ron for more quarters. He came back with a ten dollar roll of quarters and handed it to me without a word, but with lips a little pursed. Those lurkers were all around too just waiting to get my two fives and I held my ground. I told him "I'm determined to get those two five dollar bills". After a couple of minutes and only the wrapper left in my hand he had the nerve to say "you know you have already put fifteen dollars in to get that ten right?"

I'm glad he wasn't around when I was a kid. Bummer.

lol.. nice story Beckron.

I have always exhibited self control when it comes to wandering through a casino to get to a poker room. That is until I met those loveing "wheel of fortune" $1 machines.. It is amazing that a grown man will deposit $100 or so just to hear that beloved "DING..WHEEL OF FORTUNE! BEEP BOOP BEEP BOOP BEEP"... followed by a spin that ALWAYS pays me about $25. I then cash out. No self control whatsoever.

I think this disorder stems from one night on the way to Vegas for a tournament. Me and my girlfriend stopped for the night in Laughlin and wandered over to the Edgewater at 3am while the cleaning crews were the only ones there. I put a $20 bill in said machine, got the "DING" on the first spin and hit the $1,000 spot on the wheel. I have been its victim since then.

It will break me someday without a doubt... sigh.
