We had to do it sooner or later. The post's were getting out of hand in the other thread's.
Last weekend I mentioned that I did up 4 lbs of Pork Roast, Honey BBQ sauce and a little water at 10 hours on low. It came out completely awesome, best pulled pork I have ever had! Period!
Earlier today I put in a whole 2.5 lb pork roast and am trying the Pepsi route. The recipe's all state to cook it on high for 5 hours, but I am going for another 10 on low again.
I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany...

Came out great. Not sure if I will make it again though...a little too sweet for my liking.

What size is the crock pot? J C Penney is going to have a 6 quart on sale the day after Thanksgiving for $12.88. Removable crock too. Then Best Buy is going to have a 4 quart on sale for $14.99.
BTW, if I make queso, I float the bowl in warm water in the crock pot, keeps it warm without getting that skin on top. If I put it on high, well I have a block of queso for slicing.

Ok crock pot experts! I've never used one but have lately been thinking of buying one. Any advice for a rookie regarding size/price or anything else I should be looking for? Thanks!

The more temperature control, the better.

They are great for making up big batches of split pea soup and any of the other legume soups.

I've got the one from . It has the removable crock and it's also got a built-in timer.

They are so useful. You can stew a chicken, make a roast...the possibilities are almost endless.
