Don't get too excited,

The former “Heated Topics” Forum has been eliminated. If you want to get involved in discussions or partisan politics, religion, etc. there are plenty of places out there where your can do so.

But it will be interesting to discuss other things I'm sure!

Hi Lurker. I believe that the" heated topics" part of the forum did cause posters to lose control. However, the section on horse racing had its share of nastiness.
Deleting the section " Heated Topics" will not eliminate vitriolic posts. The way to eliminate these posts, is to eliminate the posters who are the cause of the problem. A person who insults will insult in any section of a forum.
