Not sure it was Mattingly’s decision 117%.
Form what I understand Kershaw liiterally begged, pleaded and threatened the Dodgers to let him pitch. Without Kershaw's insistence, Nolasco pitches and gives up 5 runs and the Dodgers lose 5-4.
I like Mattingly but I won't give him credit for the poor start or this great finish. Unless your name is Billy Martin, Tony LaRussa or Mike Scioscia, you're not going to make a big difference on wins and losses, impo.
Dodgers got lucky last night with Uribe.
Uribe CANNOT bunt.
Yes, he's been successful 3 times this year but if I recall correctly, all 3 times were questionable plays on the defense where they had a good chance to throw out the lead runner but took the easy out instead. And if you recall in game 1, Atlanta flubbed his bunt up as they had an easy chance at getting the runner out at 3rd.
Uribe simply can't bunt.
I've also seen Uribe flub up at least 2-3 more times, meaning he bunted poorly and the lead runner WAS thrown out at 2nd or 3rd.
I'd much rather see Uribe strike out (or hit a homer, lol) then try and bunt.
