USC-Oregon Ducks

This one is shaping up to be the PAC10 game of the year. Oregon is at home, and getting points? The rote wagerer within says take Oregon. However, the hope is that SC thrashes them.

When the Ducks played WSU Cougars earlier, with the game put away at something like 45-zip in the 2nd half, Ducks were running trick plays and doing all the sorts of jerk things Duck nation has been known for. I wish the Ducks' team owner would reign them in a little.

Here's hoping the Trojans put'em in their place Saturday.

Now we know that if needed the USC offense can score plenty of points. USC should be a fun team to watch the last month of the season with the way they are getting it together offensively.

I'm sure the Over/Under is high but that's the bet I'd make if the weather was going to be decent. Don't think either defense can truly stop the speedy, diverse offenses both have at their disposal.

This SC team is hard to figure. I could see USC handling the Ducks rather easily, but I could also see them getting thrashed by 3 or 4 touchdowns.

I would be more confident, but the SC defense the past few weeks has left a lot to be desired. And the Ducks have things rolling quite nicely, thank you very much.

Should be a very entertaining game, lots of big hits, great athletes on the field. Betting wise, I have no opinion at all.

Ogy...I know you are participating in CFB talks a lot less without JSR and Codesix, but darn if I've never heard you with a foot firmly planted on both sides of the fence like this before. :D

I think this is the year for Oregon to get by the Trojans. They are playing as well as anyone in the country. I hope for a competitive and exciting game.

MasterP:

I truly have a BIG interest in the game, but I have big respect for the Ducks. It would not shock me in the least to see the Ducks win, and maybe in a huge way.

That being said, I hope SC shows up for the prime time games, like they normally do, and handles their business. If they can beat Oregon, they run the table from there, and then it's BCS game for sure, and maybe, if they get lucky, the big one.

Here's the final score from Eugene, in advance:

USC 37
Oregon 31

I thought I clicked on a smiley, so I hope you picked up on my sarcasm in my last post.

I think it should be a good game and hopefully, the national media will tune in and see we do have some good football out west.

Amen brother. I think the PAC 10 stacks up quite nicely this year against any conference. The SEC doesn't look so scary this year to me.

Read in the LA Times that USC has lost its last three games played in the state of Oregon.

Wow.

If USC loses on Saturday, it's streak of 105 straight years playing in BCS bowl games wil be finished. For the love of God and all that jazz, can the Trojans please win, even if its an ugly 13-12 game with lots of penalties and turnovers?

I hate Oregon but this game worries me, other than the Cal game USC has looked bad on at least one side of the ball every game. The key will be to stop the run and make Massoli pass to beat you. Massoli is OK passing on running downs but he is not a drop back passer. I'd spy him on any 3rd and long. Oregon's big weapon in the passing game is TE Ed Dickson. Apparently USC has been hurt by TE this year, go figure.

The Pac-10 is solid this year especially at the bottom of the conference. Is UCLA really the #9 team? They hammered Tennessee at Tennessee - the same Tennessee team that lost at Florida by 10 and should have won at alabama. They crushed K-State - the team leading the Big-12 North. The other two teams at the bottom - ASU lost at Georgia in OT and UW lost at ND in OT in a game that they should have won (how do you not score in 8 plays from the 1 yard line?)
