So I come home Monday night after spending a few days in beautiful Lake Tahoe, playing in the snow, gambling 27/7 like a fool and yada, yada, yada.
My daughter goes,
"Dad, what are your plans this weekend?"
I go, "Think I'm gonna just do some yoga, meditate, pray and relax because I have another handicapping tournament Saturday."
She goes,
"Think again. This Friday, you and I are going to spend the night in San Francisco waiting in line to try out for The Amazing Race Saturday afternoon. Start thinking of what you're going to tell the Judges that will make you stand out."
My wife chimed in and said, "Just be yourself - they'll remember you." (Not sure what she meant by that).
In any case, I almost liiterally had a heart attack.
You see, my daughter has been one the biggest fans of this show ever since it started and her dream in life is to be on it. She's extremely fun to be with (goofy like me), has this great personality, is very creative and would make the perfect contestant in my unbiased (lol) opinion.
Me? I'm not so sure about. I'd have to miss racing for a month and enhance my navigational skills. And since we would be doing a lot of physical activities, I may have to spend a few extra hours in the sweat box at GoldenGatebytheBay. I do swim daily so I hope that's part of the deal they have on the Race.
On the other hand I know how to use a machine to make computer reservations and do know that Italy is no longer part of the United States.
Question: What should I do in my interview that might make me stand out?
What are my strong points?
Do I have any apparent weaknesses that can be resolved in a few minutes?
