Why is gas higher in California then Nv or Az ?

Postby Igeteven » Thu Feb 07, 2013 3:01 am

I believe the State of California supplies NV with all the gas pump through lines from Torrance, Ca, I think they also supply most of Northern AZ with same gas.

I also believe it's all the same fuel.

Now why do we pay 75 cents a gal higher then these States for the same gas.

There is more to it then saying , well this is California.

Anyone.

There is more to it. California regs require a designer gasoline, which is only produced by certain refineries, so 'other' gasoline can't be shipped into the Golden State. Y'all are at the mercy of those particular refineries, and if one shuts down for maintenance or any reason, ZOOOOOM!
America must have the highest "goofs per capita" rating of any nation outside Antarctica.

Monday, when I cross into Ca, prices jump 75 cents per gal.

And the refineries -- for "whatever" reason -- keep their reserves really low, so when they shut down for maintenance it creates an instant shortage.
I hate it when I don't forward chain letter and I die the next day!
