There was a bit on the radio about the celebration of anniversary (the 199th) of the battle in New Orleans earlier this month. Now this is going through my head.

On 31 January 1861 the Republic of Louisiana seized the US Mint at New Orleans.
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.
