Do You Ever Lie at Work to Axe for Time Off?

Postby Vince P » Tue Oct 13, 2009 7:12 am

How do you handle times at work when you want to go to the track or do some other fun stuff but need to lie about it?

Here's an email I just sent to my boss:

Mxxxxxx,

I will be taking some medical exams in the near future and need to schedule some sick time.

Thursday, Oct 15: I have a 5pm appointment and need to leave at 3pm.

Friday, Oct 16: I have a 1:30 test results review meeting and need to leave at noon

Monday, Oct 19: I have another follow-up appointment at 1:30 and have to leave by noon

Wednesday, Oct 21: Pending another exam at 5pm, I may have to leave by 3

Friday, Oct 23: Pending reviews of earlier tests at 5pm, I may have to leave again at 3pm.

I'll be using sick leave for all this time off.

Thanks for your understanding at this critical time,

Vince P

I'm sure your agent will understand (not sure why you call him boss?) but it's the owners and public you don't want to piss off. Remember, missing a few mounts here and there is how PVal started sliding downhill, hopefully they won't turn on you. Ain't nothin worse than hearing a bunch of boos on your way back after bustin your azz trying to keep a sore horse straight and strong down a stretch that's too darn long.

Good luck, Godspeed.
And remember...Things work out best when you make the best of the way things work out.

Wouldnt it be much easier to just say "I have to go work Goldikova and Rainbow View?"

Hmmmm, good question. I'll come up with some BS.

Nah, I think I already put that on the vacation schedule in the jock's room months ago.
