Padilla is Addicted

Postby Vince P » Tue Oct 13, 2009 6:33 am

Now I'll be the first one to admit that I'm Online 24/7 but that's only after I ride during the day and dance at night. But if I was making $10 million a year like Padilla, I'm not sure I'd be surfing the Del Mar Fan Forum or DejaVuShowgirls during the World Series against the Yankees, would you?

"The Rangers complained that Padilla was late for meetings or skipped them altogether. He also was known to retreat to the clubhouse during games to check e-mail and surf the Internet."

The only reason he was checking his email is because he was waiting for one from his agent to get him the F out of that redneck town.

Are you talking about the kind of ability the RSox could have used Sunday afternoon?

I'm certainly not going to defend Padilla, but from what I understand, a lot of his attitude problems stemmed from the rednecks prevalent in the Ranger clubhouse. That's what they're saying anyway. While I cannot believe there exists a MLB team that doesn't welcome Hispanics, I guess if there had to be one, it would be in Texas.

Regardless, he has pitched magnificently down the stretch and his effort against a Cards team on the brink of elimination was amazing.

BTW - He was named the Rangers "Pitcher of the Year" in 2008.

Ranger Pitcher of the Year. Sounds like an award of equal weight with Roughrider player of the year.
