Pulitzer-prize winning movie critic Roger Ebert's journal of movies that really stink:

The worst movie I seen this year was Zombieland.

Is that movie about the people who hang out at SA in that downstairs room that you can walk down a ramp to from the paddock?

He lists "Step Brothers".. I actually laughed pretty hard during that one. I have been known to have a hoot or two or three though during movie time.
I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany...

It could also be about the ones that stand 6 deep at a SAM instead of using the " Card Only " one right next to it that has no line at all.

I watch tons of movies and seeing as many, many are poo-poo this is a tough call. Worst one this past year for me was 88 Minutes. That's especially painful as Al Pacino, who was my favorite actor, once did movies where he was awake during the shooting. The worst movie I ever saw all-time was The Lemon Sisters. To this day, it is the only one I ever walked out of a theatre about 1/3 in. Should have asked for my $ back, but couldn't quite muster whatever embarassment I felt.

I very seldom watch movies, go to a movie or rent a movie. Dunno' why, except that I'd rather read. I keep up with the plots, the casts, directors, the reviews,

I do keep a list of movies I want to see...some day. It's very long list. Most of them would be considered 'art' movies and/or indie flicks.

A couple of movies I remember going to that I hated and was outraged that good money was spent making them instead of sending the cash to starving children in India, Africa, were:

"Universal Soldier:" - my date picked that one, not me. First and only movie I would have walked out on not long after it started but I was on a date & didn't have my own transporation.

Another that comes to mind is "Memphis Belle".

A couple of movies I thought I'd like and could not get to like them, because I never could figure out what the hell they were about:

"Jennifer Eight" and

"Dead Again".

IMO, anything with Nicholas Cage pretty much stinks. Same for Tom Cruise

I actually love Ben Stiller, but in his serious roles: "Your Friends and Neighbors", and the one where he is an addict (scary-realistic) "Permanent Midnight".

Permanent Midnight is a must see for those who think Ben Stiller can only do comedy and for a realistic portrayal of how much damage one can do by getting hooked on drugs, or any other addiction for that matter.

He was scary (good) in that role. It was one of those performances that has stuck in my mind since I saw it years ago.

I wish more people had seen "Your Friends and Neighbors". He was terrific in that, another straight role. Excellent cast too.
