This following is true as it happened to me today.
Son: Dad, why is there a picture of the state of Texas on the Chiefs helmets?
Me: Son, it's a long story. A long time ago, the chiefs used to play out of Dallas, and they were actually called the Texans. Then they moved out of Dallas in to Kansas City, and they were renamed the Chiefs. Then later on Dallas picked up a new team and they were named the Cowboys.
Son: Oh ok. So why is the Kansas City head coach wearing a baseball cap that says the word DALLAS on it? Does he want Dallas to win?
Me: Son like i said, its a long story. The NFL is doing something callled throwback teams in which they wear old time jerseys from a long time ago?
Son: Well, where do the Houston Texans fit in?
I quit right right there, because I knew i would get strung out trying to explain the Oilers and Titans.
Bottom line, the NFL throwback themes have now reached the ridculous stage
brown.
