Well there are a ton of head injuries and knee injuries. How about some groin or kidney shots to the body? 1994 Stanley Cup Champion
Re: Football needs to change...There are reports that they are even finding evidence of CTE in individuals who never played football beyond high school.

Re: Football needs to change...how ya think lester got it?
Re: Football needs to change...I played football in HS and 1 year at JC and can't count the number of times I got my bell rung delivering and receiving the hit.I'm glad college and the NFL has created the helmet rule and hitting the defenseless player.I know its only a few years old but the NFL needs to reevaluate how and when the penalty should be called. Its not fair to the defense when a running back ducks his head at the last mill a second and collides with the linebacker who is already in flight making the tackle. In fact the RB is the one delivering the
.Yet in 3+ years of the penalty being created I have yet to see a offensive player get this penalty. If they enforced the rule when Payton,Cambell and Jim Brown played they would be fined every game. Also during a QB sack they need to realize the defense is nota stuntman from the movie The Matrix. When your going full blast and zeroed in on the QB and his body changes direction on the way down you can't lift yourself in the air and spin around. Hitting a defenseless player is unacceptable and very dangerous. They should kick him out of the game and fine him big time and suspend him for a few games. The NFL is going in the right direction.Maybe the next step is improving the helmets asap.Maybe use the helmet Steve Tasker created or a version of it.You get a nice view of it in the 2nd picture.https://www.google.com/search?q=steve+t ... g&dur=1794
Re: Football needs to change...It didn't take Earl Campbell long to quit using his head as a battering ram. He still ran over/through the defense but used his shoulders more.
I lived in Houston all the Campbell years and a company I worked for used him as a spokesman (Finger Furniture) and I met him several times. Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.
Re: Football needs to change...Fredo my favorite mOOk, when you laced em up you wore this http://www.chicagonow.com/the-lowe-down ... helmet.jpg so of course your bell got rung

Re: Football needs to change...That is hysterical Gooser. I actually got that helmet for Xmas from my son a few years ago. He then dared me to wear it in a family pickup game. Turned out to be a great day.
