Re: Hall Of Famethey never tested mickey mantle or joe dimaggio for steroids, how do we know they didnt use them? same with tons of other players
Re: Hall Of Fame
The only thing Piazza could do ok was hit. He stunk as a defensive catcher.
Re: Hall Of Fame
They didn't use them because their feet and head stopped growing while they were still in their teens. On the other hand some of the players in the "juicing era" had shoe and head sizes change (get larger) while they were in their late 20's, well past the time of human skelatal growth for most humans. HGH, human growth hormone.
Re: Hall Of FameThis is far and away the best article I have read about the Baseball Hall Of Fame, how it should handle the PED users, and how history should look at the 90's and early 2000's..

Re: Hall Of Fame
I'm not buying it. Putting spit on a baseball or corkin' a bat doesn't give a player anywhere near the same advantage as PED's. If they juiced, and it's obvious and detected, they shouldn't be in the Hall, period. What a travesty that we went so many years to break Maris's record, only to have it tarnished when multiple players surpassed it. Maris's record stood longer than Ruths and would still stand today as is obvious by the present day, yearly home run production. I would like to see Rose go in, I can see Perry staying in, but I cannot see Bonds, Mcgwire, Sosa or Palmeiro getting in unless they purchase a ticket. Clemmons can purchase a ticket too.
Re: Hall Of FameSeems to me Rose played the game fair. I quit caring when they wouldn't put him in.
America must have the highest "goofs per capita" rating of any nation outside Antarctica.
Re: Hall Of FameGet Chipper Jones into the Hall of Fame even though he just retired and retired people don't get in til 5 years after they retire.
Re: Hall Of Fame
Whoa! Stop right there. That's my cuzin you're talking about. Mike may be totally gay; he might even be a Lesbian or a drug addict, although perusing his stats, if he did do drugs, he took some bad juice because he declined after he reached 30. But a ???????Surely you jest. This is the same Piazza that walked into an opposing clubhouse in front of 27 opponents, armed guards, police, etc, and grabbed their pitcher who threw at him (Mota/Dodgers) and figuratively almost strangled him to death in front of the pitcher's friends, without batting an eye. A ???????Absolute nonsense. But I do agree he should have grabbed the pierced bat and either stuck it up Clemens’ fatass or stabbed him with it. But that game was on national TV and a lot of girls and wimmins were watching so it's best he didn't. As far as hustling, I've watched Piazza play in over 1,777 Dodger/Met games in person or on TV and NOT ONCE did I see Piazza not hustle. He may have had a weak arm and been the slowest runner in the history of sports but he always hustled. Show me otherwise and I'll send you to my Harrah's suite in beautiful Lake Tahoe with two of my best Quackos for a week. I think you're dazed and confused like me from Monday night's tackle football game. Vince Piazza Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Re: Hall Of Fame
I did qualify it as his time with the Mutts. While with the LA Lasorda's he was a different"Man". I never mean any disrespect to you or your family. Please, no horse heads in my bed and I dont want to be swimming with the fishes. FRIERI EQUALS HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
Re: Hall Of FameOut of curiosity, and it is hard to compare, Baffert, Frankel and Pletcher are already in or sure thing Hall of Famers. Baffert and Pletcher have had multiple positives and all three were under huge suspicion all the years drug use was rampant. What about trainers like Doug O'Neill or Richard Dutrow, whose whole training career have been under a huge cloud of bad tests? Soon enough, with all of their training titles, thousands of career wins, and victories in Triple Crown and Breeders Cup races, their resume' and accomplishments will appear Hall Of Fame worthy. Should they be allowed in racing's HOF with all their bad tests and times they were sequestered to a detention barn? What about the "clean" trainers already in there that have had records broken by these guys? Or the "clean" borderline HOF trainers who would have won many more prestigious races had they not run against these guys? Or is Horse Racing's HOF deemed less important than baseball's? It seems that every sport, in the modern era, have all time greats with bad positive tests. Should every sport keep these "suspicious" guys out, or just baseball because it is perceived differently?
