Spelling Fun

I was looking on Craigslist at used washing machines. Would consider most brands, including Amana.

Someone has an "amma" one for sale. Someone else has an "Amanda". People doing a search for an "Amana washer" would never see those ads. Maybe that's just as well.

Craigslist is great for seeing all the ways (all the wrong ways) people can spell something.

I'll never forget when someone here with the initials CK, talking about drugs, had something to say about oxycotton.

Handwritten sign tacked on the bulletin board of the local Hy-Vee:
"For sale - eight weeks old, cute, fluffy, cream and gold Palmeranians"

Way back when, my step-dad was in business with a cajun (Bait camp on Galveston Bay), The pleasure-boaters tended to buzz our place at speed, upsetting the bait boxes. The cajun made-up a very authoritative looking sign that stated :
SOLW 5 MPH
America must have the highest "goofs per capita" rating of any nation outside Antarctica.

City of Poway used to have a sign at the trailhead at Lake Poway -- "HORSEBACH RIDING AND HIKING ONLY"
