It's been proposed a number of times. Some govt. types are upset that lower gasoline consumption by vehicles such as my mean less tax $$ per mile driven. The theory being that we're wearing out the roads without paying to fix them.

My contention is that vehicles that get better mileage tend to weigh less so do less damage to the roads.

At any rate, the prospect of the government installing GPS in all our vehicles so they can track mileage seems like a REALLY hard sell.

The lotteries are or were suppose to be used mainly for maintaining the highways.

In California, the lottery is supposed to benefit the schools. Not exactly how it's worked out.

Oh please.
Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.

Mary, 96% of new cars ALREADY have them as standard equipment. The US government has made the black boxes mandatory for all new cars starting in 2014.

True -- but there are a lot of old cars out there. My is a 2004 and my Miata is a 1992. Norman's pickup is a bit long in the tooth, too.

It won't happen, It will never happen. It's Fox Noise just being Fox Noise debating and discussing an outrageous notion that has no merit. It's what they do. Fox News should change their name to the Urban Legend Network.

Tax his land, tax his wage,
Tax his bed in which he lays.
Tax his tractor, tax his mule,
Teach him taxes is the rule.

Tax his cow, tax his goat,
Tax his pants, tax his coat.
Tax his ties, tax his shirts,
Tax his work, tax his dirt.

Tax his chew, tax his smoke,
Teach him taxes are no joke.
Tax his car, tax his grass,
Tax the roads he must pass.

Tax his food, tax his drink,
Tax him if he tries to think.
Tax his sodas, tax his beers,
If he cries, tax his tears.

Tax his bills, tax his gas,
Tax his notes, tax his cash.
Tax him good and let him know
That after taxes, he has no dough.

If he hollers, tax him more,
Tax him until he's good and sore.
Tax his coffin, tax his grave,
Tax the sod in which he lays.

Put these words upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove me to my doom!"
