One congressperson has asked the dept. of transportation to look into the idea of a mileage tax, and it's reported by Fox that "lawmakers" with an "s" are pushing for a mileage tax!!!
Again this is what Fox Noise does. They take an obscure request from a congressperson and
it up into "lawmakers pushing mileage tax." When the correct reporting headline should probably be: " A congressperson asks the dept. of tran. to look into mileage tax." The only problem is the correct way to report this doesn't generate much interest.
An idea like this will never pass into law, because 1. It's already being used, in a different format, on the east coast and midwest called Toll Roads.
Probably an adoption of the Chicago style toll road would be adopted. Sensors put up over the road ways, and a purchase of a pass (monthly or yearly) that attaches to the windshield.
Or New York's if they still have the same toll roads they had when I lived there. A toll is not paid until you exit the highway, however, a license can be purchased each year to use the toll roads as much as you want.
Let me ask you this: Does your representative support such a tax? And if he or she does, are you getting involved with changing his or her mind through a little thing called participation and the vote?
