Besides reading this post, what is the dumbest thing you ever did?
Mine is, while writing out Christmas cards last week, I tried to lick that envelope seal and close it like one normally does.
My wife goes, "Idiot, WTF are you doing?"
I go, "Licking the envelope to seal it but it won't work."
She goes, "You're licking the glue strip. Pull the strip off and it will seal automatically."
I go, "How was I supposed to know?"
Am I right or wrong?
What's the dumbest thing you ever did?

Not buying that house in Mission Viejo for $32K back in the 70s because I was going through a divorce and didn't think I could handle the $200 (maybe it was less) mortgage payments by myself.
Huge lesson learned. If you want something and it's a good investment. Reach - stretch.

Back in the late 50;s or early 60's Property in Newport Beach was 500 dollars a lot and the further you got away from the ocean, it was less.

If that's your dumbest thing, you have lived a wonderful life.

got kicked out of an angel game once so headed for a near by bar where a friend was bartender.
was doing shot after shot and talkin basketball with a brotha.
had a grizzly adams like beard at the time.
for some reason i asked him "can you do this"? i took a lighter out and lit my beard on fire.
my friend the bartender did throw a wet towel in my face. got tossed out of there and was asked never to come back. guess the smell of burnt hair wasnt good for business.
i love the smell of burnt hair in the evening......it smells like victory.
yikes thats prolly not close to being the dumbest thing ive done.

I wish that was the dumbest thing I ever did. That was #118 on my countdown list. Still have 117 dumber things to list. Wait til you see #7. All I'll say it has something to do with ironing my pants. Vince P

Eighteenth birthday in Yokosuka, Japan (Navy), was drunk and got stopped by the Shore Patrol.
Mistake #1 - took a swing at the SP. The effect was to quintriple my punishment, from 14 days restricted to the ship to 7 days in the Marine Brig, Yokosuka. Mistake #2 - the non-com I swung at was the Welter-weight Fleet boxing champion (combined Navy and Marines).
That didn't go well.
