In order to believe that it was the "plan" all along you would have to totally disregard the fact that the group that recently purchased the company will be losing nearly their entire investment.

I was always partial to the lemon ones -- they have a mysterious sort of petrochemical flavor.

It never ceases to amaze, when a company experiences problems or goes under, the fault is always assigned to front line workers or unions as may be the case. There is never a mention of management mistakes. It always falls on the little guy.

Well if you had kept up with current events you would have known that every business, ever built, was built solely by the creator of the business without any help from anyone. The business creator, was self taught and home schooled when growing up, learning on average 56 hours a day, and when the business creator became an adult, after attaining a home schooled college degree, he or she then built the streets and roads that lead to his or her business solely by him or herself, working on avg. about 64 hours per day. He or she built the surrounding infrastructure like utilities and such solely by working an additional 36 hours a day, and then the business creator, manufactured every thing for sale by him or herself and really grew the business. Once the government saw how successful the business creator had become on his own, the government forced the business creator to hire people called "employees." These "employees" then caused the business creator's company to fail, because of welfare and social security. This is like Economics 101, and I've been explaining that to my wife, but I now see as I look up from keyboard that she is no longer sitting in her chair, and I've been talking to an empty chair for the last 10 minutes.

http://nbclatino.com/2012/11/17/will-tw ... ownership/...According to the Christian Science Monitor, while food producers ConAgra and Flowers Food, the American company behind Nature Valley granola, have expressed interest along with Little Debbie baker McKee Foods, Mexico’s Grupo Bimbo may hold the inside track.
Grupo Bimbo is the world’s largest bread baking firm, which already owns parts of Sara Lee, Entenmann’s and Thomas English Muffins and previously made what was considered a low-ball offer of $580 million a few years ago, Forbes reports. Now Hostess may only be worth $135 million.
Economists say high sugar prices tied to US trade tariffs were a big reason Hostess was struggling, but a Mexican company could be a lifeline for Twinkies because it would be able to take advantage of access to lower-priced sugar in Mexico....
Anyone else see a bit of irony in the possibility of the company that produces "Nature Valley" granola purchasing the purveyor of some of the most unnatural treats ever?

Probably because the unions are the first to demand that businesses "share" their financial success with the workers yet don't feel that sharing financial downturns would be equally appropriate. When labor becomes a fixed cost it makes it hard to maneuver through economic hard times.
