So the 2012 Bloker "Going Everywhere BobB Wants to Be" Tour continues this weekend as we head over to South Bend, IN and the hallowed grounds of Notre Dame University (cue angel choir) to witness the big Stanford/Notre Dame gridiron battle.

Woulda been a bigger deal if Stanford could have come in undefeated and ranked in the Top 10. Still, should be an epic event. The ESPN Gameday crew will be there so you know this is huge.

Attending the game with a buddy of mine from Florida who is a huge Notre Dame fan. Obviously, he wants a chance to cash large on the Irish so I have agreed to take Stanford +7.

I actually think I'm going to win the bet and send my friend back to FL crushed and angry. In the BobB Upset Special, Stanford wins 31-10. I base this on no evidence or handicapping whatsoever. Gut feeling.

Would never talk you off your bet but ND's D is the real deal. Stanford's offense is average at best. I would find another dog to bet. ND wins 24-7. Great post Bloker very entertaining. Make sure to visit the Grotto and take a picture with TD Jesus in the background. Godspeed.

I have watched every game for both Stanford and ND this season.

This should be a battle of defenses, based on the style both teams play. Forget the points that Arizona scored on Stanford last week, UA runs a spread offense and that is what Stanford has trouble with, they shouldnt see anything like that from the Irish.
Stanford relies on rb Taylor and two TE's Ertz and Toilolo. The Farm do not have a good WR, that I have seen as of yet. Stanford QB Nunes does not have a strong an arm, IMO, but does an adaquete job. Big shoes to fill in after a guy like Luck was there.

The Irish have done a much better job of ball control this year and their defense has been outstanding. This will be a much tougher game for the Irish than last week vs South Beaches Finest Convicts.

Stanfords lone road game was a loss to Washington, where they were as flat as can be. Playing in Southbend has to be tougher than Seattle.

I think 7 points is about right.

By the way, my friends son plays OL for Stanford. He is a freshman. In the program it may have him listed as #78, however, he has been wearing # 94 all season. He has been lining up outside the RT so he technically is a TE, and is eligble for a pass. He plays in a formation where Stanford puts him and the regular TE on one side of the line to make a "Heavy" powerline. His name is Kyle Murphy. With that name he would seem to be an obvious fit for the Irish, but decided to stay in California, even though the Irish did recruit him.

Eye Man.....I Tivo all the Cardinal Games each season and would give Montgomery an honorable mention as WR. He got hurt last season and was playing fine so far this year. (till he got hurt again)
As you mentioned, Nunes has not been very consistent with his passes--Not really the Wide Outs fault. Stanford continues to get much more mileage out of their Big Tight Ends on deep passing plays--and
I expect that to continue. Wide outs in this offense are for sideline routes or reverses.

Stanford D will Crush a team that relies on the drop back passer---but as you pointed out....spread offense and speed plays are their weakness.
Taylor is a horse....and the Farm has another great RB just waiting for next season.

Seriously, the last winning wager Vince made was on your Rams in 2007 so take everything I say as if I was Lester.

The problem here is these are my two favorite teams in college football and I cannot bet against either one though, like Bob B, I have a tiny bit more affection toward his Iriish, mainly because I am from Ireland as you probably know.

The second problem is Vince does not believe in laying too many points to anyone.

My professional advice is to wager a little something on both teams and after the game pull out the winning ticket from your pocket and act like you won.

Touts do this all the time and it works.
