Same here. I was hoping the big three would all lose on Saturday, but of course that didn't happen.

As for Boise, I think it's more no one wants to play them home-and-home, making it tough for Boise State to schedule tough non-conference opponents. If only the NCAA would make some of the power teams (Florida for instance) stop scheduling early season cupcakes and make them say go to Boise and play them there (could you imagine if the Gators had to play on the blue turf at Boise State for instance?), then you could level the playing field somewhat.

If you make one team do it, you better make ALL teams do it. It isn't fair to single out the top teams for playing 1-AA teams when a lot of the smaller schools do as well (like Boise State scheduling Cal-Davis).

Alabama played Clemson last year who was supposed to be the second coming, they played Virginia Tech this year and next year they pick up Penn State. Then from the east we pick up Florida next year too. And I just ate a buttercream cupcake from Barnes and Noble myself. Those little teams need those paydays they get from going to places like Alabama, Florida and Texas.

Please, I don't want to think about next year without T.R. Tebow as QB. I think Brantley will be good, but having to replace T.R. Tebow and all that he brought is asking a lot.

I keep wondering what would have happened had Tebow gone to Bama instead of Florida. I think we would be looking at Bama defending the BCS Title this year, but I wonder if they would have gotten more?? I wonder if Shula would still be coach of Bama too?

I'll take that one. Andre Smith blew the team up in New Orleans. They didn't give a darn after losing to Florida and missing a chance at the National Championship game and neither did their fans

If one guy blew up the team, then they really weren't that great in my opinion.

This year's bama, I believe in.

Last year's, I never was a buyer and Utah flat out whooped them.

;) How did you get your dog to wear that flower arrangement? I recently bought a Chug (Chihuahua x Pug) for my girlfriend. Unruly character. 5-6 months old now and still bites like a teething puppy (hard!). I have reduced myself to watching the Dog Whisperer on Hulu to figure out exactly what is wrong with him. I will need to take out a second mortgage to pay for his Nature Balance diet of dry food and sausage (for his sensitive stomach) every week. Sigh.

Back to football. I just think that a WAC or MWC team cannot be compared to the SEC/Big 10/blah blah blah and vice versa. Do we have to bring in Stoops to explain as well?

If 12-2 is not a good year in a coaches second year and just coming off probation well maybe your expectations are too high.

Jocan, That's his hillbilly hat. If your pup is just five months old you better find some patience but one day you'll find that teething is over and the biting will stop. I have a Dachshund that no one could hold for months and now he must be held all the time. You are going through the worst teething stage right now. His teeth probably hurt and they are falling out.

That's why it's a great thing to adopt an adult dog from the shelter, they have chewed up someone else's things and are easy to housetrain.

Beckron, I didn't say good, I said great. 12-2 and getting boat raced without showing any fight will never make you great.

And plenty of teams make the big turnaround in year two under a new coach.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not a Bama hater. I really like your team this year. They are easily my number 1 at this point.

But let me ask you one question...how can you root for a like Nick Saban? As someone who has no affiliation to the team, league or even region...he is just so darn unlikeable.

But overall, good luck with the rest of the season.

Because I cover high school football and recruiting and I see what he means to those kids and what he's like on the other side. There are other coaches that earn a lot of respect on that side too. The reason the media doesn't love him is because they aren't what it's all about for him. He was never a until he went to Miami. He's not a pro coach, end of story, I hate the pros too. Do you ever hear his players saying he's a ?

12-2 or 13-1, it didn't make any difference if they beat Utah or not. Ole Miss beat Texas Tech in their bowl game, big whoop this season. To throw up the Utah loss as any reflection on this year's team is a little cracked. Alabama is about winning championships and second place is just first loser. As far as anybody loving or not loving Alabama, they don't really care what you or I think about them, respect on the field is all they are after and maybe that arrogance is what makes Saban a great fit at Alabama. He may be a sonofabeech but he's OUR sob.

I didn't throw up the Utah loss as a crack on this year's team, I actually try not to hold previous years over teams. That loss was a reflection on last years team.

Anyway, best of luck in 2009. Still not sure how the season will play out exactly.
