Boise St disrespect continuesEast Coast bias alive and well, as BSU DROPS one spot in AP rankings, even though they won their game. VaTech jumps up and over to No 5.

Re: Boise St disrespect continues
I hate BSU, but they have a beef this week. Va Tech barely gets by Puke a team they should beat by 50, and BSU wins, but they still fall. Maybe the pollsters are saying "Well, VT beat Miami last week who beat Oklahoma this week." However, my beef with BSU is that tough schedule Boise State plays. A single win over Oregon doesn't = 7 or 8 wins versus Big 12 or SEC competition. If BSU were to move to the Mountain West conference and run the table there, then I maybe would consider them for the National Championship, not just a BCS Bowl, but until then they are still a mid-major with a questionable schedule. They don't deserve respect for beating 3 or 4 good teams because SEC and Big 12 teams can do that and still have a losing season.
Re: Boise St disrespect continues
Unfortunately I think you should get use to it. I think the pollsters and media are realizing that the Broncos will likely not lose and they in no way want them anywhere near the BCS championship discussion. I am ok with them in the BCS, but the previous post is spot on...One big win over Oregon isn't enough.
Re: Boise St disrespect continuesAt least there is acknowledgement that a bias exists. I can accept that there is bias, I just cannot accept the arbitrary and capriciousness of these voters that do these sorts of things.
Keep in mind, that there are 2 or 3 patsies within every conference, PAC 10, BIG 12, SEC, BIG 10. So if you take the top team from a major conference, you know right off there are a couple of guaranteed wins and when you combine that factor with the non-conference patsies that these teams schedule, you come out with 5 or 6 or maybe more guaranteed wins. All teams not just Boise, have a considerable number of patsies. Case in point--the Tide. Their schedule has something called FIU whatever that is. North Texas. Chatanooga something or other. Really? Re: Boise St disrespect continuesThe problem is a BCS conference team might have 3 or 4 "patsies", Boise State has 8 or 9. By this point in the building of their program, they should know that one tough non conference game and the WAC is not going to ever get you to where you want to be. Most teams have 4 non conference games, they should be playing 3 or 4 respectable, tough teams. UC Davis should never be on a Boise State schedule at this point.
Re: Boise St disrespect continuesBTW, I don't think it's an East Coast Bias...the majority of the country feels this way.
Re: Boise St disrespect continuesIf Boise plays in SEC, what kind of record do they finish with?
Re: Boise St disrespect continues
If Boise played in SEC, they would be getting much better talent than they have now playing in the WAC |lie| Certified non player
Re: Boise St disrespect continues
Maybe .500...in a good year.
Re: Boise St disrespect continuesNo disrespect is being given to Boise State. Their coach and AD clearly aren't committed to playing a tough non-conference schedule.....at least not committed the same way as say, I don't know, how about Pat Hill from Fresno State? He has the mantra "anytime, anywhere" for his football team. They may have struggled over the past 3-5 years, but no team that plays Fresno leaves the field thinking they just played a soft team, either.
Sorry Boise, I don't care what you do from here. That schedule is SOFT.
