Hypothetical Spousal Question Help (not sexual)

Postby Vince P » Wed Sep 30, 2009 1:37 pm

Apparently my wife’s birthday is next Wednesday, October 7th.

What would you do, if say, there was an extremely crucial and life altering opening event on TV right about the same time you should be taking her to this restaurant?

Would you:

A) Pretend you’re deathly ill and stay in bed all day and have her feel sorry for you so you can watch the critical event that starts at 5:17pm.

B) Somehow get lost while driving her to her favorite restaurant and say, “Oh, what the heck, let’s eat at this new place - I’ve heard some wonderful things about it,”
and end up at a sports bar with a bunch of TVs,

C) Suck it up; be a sissy and forego the game so you can spend quality time with her on her day.

D) All of the above

E) A or B, but never C

F) None of the above

How comfortable is your dog house?

Another question: what is the longest time you've spent in the dog house before?

Stay home, pre-arrange to have a very nice, out-of-the ordinary meal catered in, a classy, romantic table setting - music, candles, white linen tablecloth, a small bouquet of exquisite roses - and an intriguing piece of good jewelry professionally wrapped sitting conspicuously on the table. Don't eat until 7 pm or so. Plenty of time to watch the beginning of the game while you do nothing except nuzzle your spouse (caterer does all the work).

What's happening on the 7th?

Is that the day the Dodgers lose their 17th in a row and clinch the wild card spot?

It might be the day they play the Cardinals in the playoffs, and one of the teams will win their first game in three weeks...

Question:

I read in Baseball Weekly that the Yankees, since they have the best record in the AL, have a choice in which playoff series (not team) to have. I.e, they can have a 7 day series that includes 2 off days or an 8 day series that includes a day off after every game.

Is that the same for the Dodgers if they finish with the best record in the NL? Has this option always existed or is it new for 2009? I don't ever remember it.

If you're not sure her Birthday is the 7th, ask to see a Birth Certificate before worrying about this.
All this may be academic.

What you gotta understand is Vince has a "wife" at every major circuit and most of the minor ones. No doubt one of them has a birthday on the 7th.
