Bob, I meant the Yankees. I read somewhere they have a choice as to which schedule to follow. They still have to play Detroit, but have a choice of how many days off they want - during or after the series (if they win).

Yankees do have a choice, but there's no choice to be made in the NL. Don't know if this has happened in the past. I'm sure it revolves around tv money.

The New York Yankees have clinched the best record in the American League and thus will have the right to decide whether they will play in the seven-day or eight-day Division Series (i.e., whether it will start its Division Series on Wednesday, Oct. 7th or Thursday, Oct. 8th). The Yankees must make their selection no later than one hour following the completion of any game that finalizes the match-ups in the Division Series.

What are the chances you can buy me two Dodger Dogs with extra mustard, keep them heated, and give them to me when I come down on Nov 4th?

I'll trade you a tip on the Rams this weekend for them<img src="/images/chat/Emoticon11.gif">

Vince, I 'm sure I could get you a couple of Dodger Doggies then drop them off at a SA concession stand on Sunday. Probably still have a little life to them after a month floating in the holding tank.

Ditto from my local team. Wainwright leaves with 6-1 lead and two guys on base for his 20th win. Bullpen allows those 2 to score plus 3 more in the inning and then allows 5 more to lose 12-6. As much confidence as I have in our top two starters, I have more fear once they come out. Get into the Birds bullpen and you're not without a chance no matter the score.

Might as well add the Red Sox to the list of teams entering the playoffs after stinking it up the last few weeks.
