Coaches Put On A Show

Now that Chuckie is up in the booth doing a solid job on Monday Nights, I think my new favorite coach to watch on the sidelines is gonna be Mike Singletary, hasn't lost a step since his playing days!

You should be glad we stole the Rams from you. While you were watching Favre beat the 49ers in a thriller, we were watching the 3rd of a probable 16 losses by the home team. Fortunately we don't play Green Bay again so there won't be very many sell outs and we'll get better games on tv locally. I'd love to know a true count on the ratio of Packer/Ram fans at the dome today. My guess is that the Pack had their unscheduled 9th home game today.

True story.

It's funny, I went to Fins (http://www.finsconcord.com/) today to watch the Rams game. Anyway, they have a bunch of TVs and the manager axes me which game I want to watch.

I go, "The Packers and the Rams."

He goes, "Good, because my wife is a big Packer fan and she'll want to check on that game too."

I was way too embarrassed to tell him that I really wanted to see the Rams win. So like every 5 minutes or so he would join me (everyone else in the joint was watching other games) and ask me what was happening. So I gave him updates. He still doesn't know I'm a Rams fan.

Bob,
Was this just one of those off form games or are they really this bad? I almost feel as if I'm like a sadomasochist or something watching and rooting for them every week. Am I? When will this end?

Here's a couple of pending wagers I have - I'll split them with you if they come in. One's at 200-1 and the other 63-1:

30893182-1 4/1/09 11:37am $7.77 $1,554.00 Pending 2/7/10 8:00pm Football .NFL +20000 Superbowl XLIV - St. Louis Rams?

34248518-1 7/19/09 11:52am $7.77 $489.51 Pending 9/9/09 12:00pm Football .NFL +6300 NFC Conference - St Louis Rams

They really are this bad. At least when Boller came in they scored some points. Their poor drafting has definitely caught up with them. Their free agent signings have been an unmitigated disaster (Jacob Bell, Drew Bennett, etc, etc, etc). The new regime will need some time to get it turned around, but they are far down the pecking order in the St Louis sports fan hierarchy. Cardinals will be in the playoffs and the Blues are getting ready to start their season. Everyone in the city is buzzing about the Blues, because they seem to be on the way up and everything about the organization is well-liked. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone in the city with something nice to say about the Rams. In all honesty, I'd be shocked if they won 4 games. I'd be more shocked if they sold out 4 games.
