Re: ChargersAs much as I hate Ray Lewis, I loved that last play of his. Coupled with the Raiders' leave-something-in-the-tank win and the Boys in Blue whacking of the Gints' ace, it was a wonderful day. Now, we just need the Cowboys to lose embarrassingly on national TV.

Re: ChargersDo I have my play sequence correct?
If the charger receiver stops his impression of the bolshoi ballet and just dives ahead for the first down, then the raven backer does not sneak up from behind and nail him. Gosh i hate it when that happens. I could be wrong but I think they got stopped after that play. Re: Chargers
That play was on second down. There was an incompletion on third down and then the stop in the backfield on fourth. That doesn't excuse the receiver from persevering to an easy first down, but perhaps he thought trying some razzle-dazzle would be worth a potentially longer gain. The reality is they had two downs to get two yards and they couldn't. I blame Norv Turner. Re: Chargers
Wrong, blame Marty Schottenheimer ![]()
Re: Chargers
You laugh, but in essence, you are 100% correct. Due to Turner's abysmal coaching, the Bolts are essentially still running Marty-ball. He has no ideas of his own and nobody worth a darn would go to work with him. I'd love to hear what the Charger fans around here think of this. Maybe as soon as they're done with their pedicures, brie wheels, and Judy Garland DVDs they could comment. Re: ChargersI resent that Doug. My nails look like Howard Hughes. I like good old American cheese! I don't even know who Judy Garland is let alone even one of her daughters(wait, how'd I know that). O.K, I lied about 2 of the three you mentioned. But truth be told, my Charger friends and I couldn't agree with you more. The Spanos family made a major mistake by going with Marty-light. Being outcoached on a weekly basis for the years I've been here has not been fun. This team has the "Cowboy Syndrome." I've coined this to explain when a milquetoast coach is hired and kept because the G.M and/or owner of the team really want to keep control of everything. You know, something a Bellicheck or any one of a dozen top coaches would never put up with. Now with a number of injuries to major contributors the Chargers are the bet-against team each week(ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY'RE FAVORED).
Re: ChargersI have defended Norvill Turner, in the past, but that was the worst play-calling I have seen in a football game in my 27 years on this planet..

JD - Thanks for not calling it the "Raiders Syndrome". SafeBlog™ - This post has been reviewed, certified, and approved by a team of independent law professionals and subpoena deliverers. To file a complaint please click here.
Re: Chargers
Why dont you watch Ron Turner and Lovie (stare at the jumbotron) Smith call plays. They are borderline hysterical. In the SB, yes a few yrs back, its ok for a HOF QB Manning to throw short quick passes. But our 2 a-hole coaches decide to throw bombs in hurricane weather. And have Rexy throw passes like weather balloons. Forget that Thomas Jones was ripping the Indy D for 110 yards in the first half. Shall I go on? Welcome to my world !!!!!!!!!
