I don't think this is just me because I have two separate receivers - not even the same models - operating two TVs independently, but has anyone else noticed that the sound is way out of synch with the lips of people speaking dialog? It's quite noticeable to me. At first I thought it was my really old TV set but then I saw it was the same on my set that's only a few years old (both are CRTs).
The dialog sound comes significantly after the lips move. It's very disconcerting.
So what's up with that?

I have Dish and don't have that problem. I would reset your boxes (hold the PWR button in until it reboots). If that doesn't solve it, call Dish. They have great Customer Service.
BTW - I can now set my DVR from my iPhone!!!

I have Dish too after switching from DirecTV, & I've found that Dish can be in some ways more finicky than DirecTV. BUT the one time I had to call Dish Cust. Service, ( expecting the worse ) I was floored by how patient & courteous the rep was. I've had a couple of times where the picture starts to digitize, & holding in the power button & letting the system reboot has taken care of the problem everytime.

I will do the reboot thing. Odd that it would affect two different receivers equally.
Yes, DISH Network's customer service is awesome. I've had DISH for about 9 years and they've always been super easy & super-helpful to deal with.
I would do without TV before I'd go back to cable. No cable, no way.

I was futzing around with my other box this morning (in order to get it on the internet too) and somewhere in the setup menu, there was a thing called "audio sync". It had two options, but I forget what they were. Maybe you could take a look at that. If you can't find it, I'll look once I get home. I have the 722 boxes.

I notice the voice and lip are not in sync in HD and it is fudging annoying because once I notice it, it is all I can focus on.

Your receivers are newer versions than mine. I have a 625 and my old, original, bought & paid for 301. I've been all through every menu on each and have never seen an audio synch option.

My menu option is found under menu > system setup > installation > tv1 audio sync

I'll look. I'm about to turn the 301 receiver off for a while anyway, because I have a new large-screen LCD TV to hook up to it. Just got it on Thursday, still in its box. Why am I hooking it up to the oldest receiver? Because the newer receiver, the 625, is the one in my bedroom, the one with the DVR. I watch shows I've recorded when I have insomnia but don't want to get out of bed.
