Both Pens and Flyers have suspect goaltending. There are no Henrik Lundquist, Tim Thomas, Brian Elliott, or Jonathan Quick in their nets. Pens scored 10 goals in game 4 in which Flyers were trying to sweep???? Pathetic!!!!!

Congrats to the Los Angeles Kings for their total dismantling of the President's Trophy winning Vancouver Canucks. Jonathan Quick was magnificent between the pipes and the Kings played aggressive hockey throughout the series. On to the second round against the Blues

Kings match up well against the teams left in the West. We could see a Flyers-Kings Stanley Cup Final. Wow..that would be fun.

If my Rangers dont extend the season tonite I will be rooting for The St. Louis Blues. Any team that has Red Berenson and the Plager Brothers is my kind of team, plus they play in this great old arena called the Checkerdome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVQFF5nk ... re=related

See Fred? I inferred that you are old. If the last team in isn't CHI (my condolences Fred), the final 4 in the West (LA, STL, NSH and possibly PHX) all have some really stellar goalies. Whichever one can 'steal' the most games will get to the SCF. The Flyers on the other hand have a sieve - PHX dumped Brzy cuz he absolutely caves in the playoffs like Solis going 7-wide. He gave up like 23 or so goals in 6 games. Got 'lucky' cuz The Flower gave up more.

The Note is certainly overdue for a championship. They've only made the finals with an asterisk when the expansion teams played each other to make it to the Finals way back around the time I was born. They were destroyed in all three appearances not winning a game. They are far from the mass popularity of the Cardinals in St Louis, but there are a hardcore element of fans that will go crazy if they were lucky enough to go all the way. I've always been a bigger hockey fan than baseball so they have been pure torture to follow all these years. They were showing signs of turning things around two years ago and my hope was that they were following the Blackhawks who went through a long spell of being horrible but built up with high draft picks before eventually winning the Cup. I thought going into last season they were going to be competitive but they laid an egg. They got off to a 6-7 start this year and Armstrong had the guts to fire the coach and bring in Hitchc0ck, who has been nothing short of remarkable. He's a lock for coach of the year and if the goaltending can continue it's strong play displayed throughout the season, things could get very interesting in the Lou. They have no big stars on offense but quite a few 15 - 20 goal scorers, which has been enough since they average less than 2 goals a game against. And many St Louisans wish they stilled played in The Arena (aka Checkerdome when Ralston Purina owned the team). I loved that place despite the sticky floors, troughs for urinals, and birds flying around in the rafters. The new Scottrade Center is antiseptic with a lot less atmosphere. I'm sure fans of the old Chicago Stadium, Boston Garden, Montreal Forum and Maple Leaf Gardens can all relate. Progress is not always good.

Mazol Tov BB. As a fan of the first team to hit the links, I kinda feel your former 'pain' though to a different degree as we were suppose to go far cuz all the fans said so back in Oct.
