hmmm, my employer currently pays 60% of the monthly premium and my portion is roughly $120/month. i know that they shelled out either 6 or 8 million last year on health insurance for about 1200 employees. to be honest, for the coverage i currently have, i consider $120 a month to be an incredibly cheap especially since it's pretax dollars.

don't know if i answered your question though.

I don't know what the answer is, but whether it's the employer only or the employee contibutes as well, that total expense per month seems to be a target, I keep hearing people say that "affordable health care" should be available to all, justcurious what that amount is?

On a sidenote, last month I saw a free clinic set up at the Forum in Los Angeles where people without insurance could get dental exams, eye checkups and a few other things, and there was quite a line. I found it surprising when some were interviewed that had been standing in line for hours for a dental exam because they couldn't afford the insurance, and they were spending the time talking on their cellphones, hmmmmm, I'm just saying, what's affordable really mean?
