Pennsylvania surpasses NJ casinos in November

The Press of Atlantic City (NJ) has reported that Pennsylvania’s casinos and racinos had more gross gaming in November than Atlantic City. Pennsylvania had a gross of $245.8 million from slot machines and table games in November while the 11 Atlantic City casino hotels had gaming of $245.1 million for the month.

Also of note, Pennsylvania’s table games generated $54 million in revenue in November. The state’s horse racing industry does not receive any share of the table game handle. Pennsylvania’s gross for table games and slots ($191-plus million) were both up in November while Atlantic City’s slot revenue was down 5 percent and table games declined by nearly 10 percent.

Atlantic City is still the second-largest casino market in the U.S. behind Nevada, but some believe Pennsylvania will surpass it in 2012.

they bet more in the east but in oklahoma they have more casinos than they do in nevada. at least it seemed like it last time i drove from east coast to west coast. seemed like every off ramp in oklahoma had at least one casino.

No they don't.Vegas alone has over 100+ casinos.Nevada has over 200 real casinos..From what I've seen in Oklahoma bingo parlors and liquor stores that sell Indian cigarettes and moccasins with 3 video poker machines does not qualify for a casino. Not too many BJ tables in the whole state and not a crap table in sight. Just like most Indian casinos on the West coast they are basically huge slot houses.

ill tell ya what though. the one i stopped at called the route 66 casino was one huge fancy casino i was amazed.

over 80 in Oklahoma, Winstar on I-35 on Texas/Okla border is the largest. There is a Hard Rock outside Tulsa at I-44 and Route 66 that's really nice but too darn crowded for me.
River Spirit is close to Route 66 also, South of Tulsa.
