Went 2-for-5 on the board last Saturday (with a tidy ROI to boot). Playing two prices on the Saturday card.
Race 5: #6 Ol Steely Blue (8/1) drops a level in class for trainer/part-ownder Valerie Rhoden off a close 4th place finish versus the top 3 finishers that compete later in the 7th. The 5YO gelded son of Sea of Secrets popped a 36 4/5 drill since that February 9th effort and will offer great value in a race that features some very suspect classdroppers (including the rail that drops from 25K company and Shediak - who was vetted two weeks ago at Los Al).
Race 8: #4 Deep Reflection (15/1) finally put things together at the $4,000 n2l condition for Team Matos on February 9th. He's always been a competitive sort and despite the step back up in class, he's a definite win play. His figs stack up quite well versus the more-fancied runners on Steve Martinelli's morning line and with the vet-scratch of Gold Star, I'd expect to see this one go off lower than lined. Note that fellow 15/1 Doctor Park has finished ahead of our pick the last 2 times they faced off. At any rate, let's hope lightning strikes twice. Wide-open race to be sure.
