Some prices to take shots with this afternoon at Golden Gate......
Race 4: #1 Bluegrass Chapp (20/1) has been first or second in his last 4 starts (at or above today's class level). Have to think that he's lined high because of his new human connections. Puertas isn't much off a drop (compared to previous trainer Larson), the rail draw is great and is terrific value in a wide-open race.
Race 6: #12 Perfect Genius (5/1) should get a fast pace to run at here for Moger. He gets the outside box, but figures to get the run of the race and a major jockey upgrade to Hernandez. Drop to the bottom can't hurt and he has even posted a drill since that 2/9 effort (when 6th of 7).
Race 7; #9 Supercilious (15/1) moves into the cagey Cone barn off the $12,500 claim. The only two-time winner in the field (wins for a $16,000 tag and under not considered in this n2l), the Pulpit filly has reeled off two wins in a row and though claimed off of Hollendorfer, I think she has some upside. Trainer-jock combo of Cone-Espitia have a $4.78 ROI in the past 60 days and is a terrible gamble.
Race 8: #5 Bellamine (10/1) returns for Morey (off a 8 month break). Note that she is 1-for-1 on the Tapeta (that win came going 2-turns). The daughter of Bellamy Road sports 9 "no-gap" drills for her 2013 bow and lands high-% jock Hernandez in the irons. She can certainly fire a shot off the bench versus this cagey bunch.
Race 9: #10 Flying With Sully (12/1) is a solid finisher at the bottom level, but never gets the top prize. She has finished behind a few of these in her last few starts and is definitely pace-dependent, but at anything above 12/1, I'm in.
