Golden Gate Fields Roughies For Sunday 2.17

Had 1 second (with the 4 spot plays) on Saturday - 13/1 runner-up Nina's Dragon (in the G3 El Camino Real Derby). Very good Sunday card on tap - let's get to it.

Race 2: Some questionable class droppers in here will take the lion's share of the cheese at the windows; my $$$ will reside on #6 Fellow Eldorado (10/1). The Specht trainee hasn't seen the winners circle in 5 months and hasn't hit the board in 4 starts, but does get the services of his favorite pilot (Kerwin John) and his last 2 efforts on the Tapeta give him hope. 3 interim works since that January 18th effort noted.

Race 4: Distance/course specialist #6 Pearloftheorient (5/1) returns off a 47-day break for owner/trainer Ellen Jackson. Off since a 3rd place effort on the turf on New Year's Day (winner Picture Perfect repeated), the daughter of Storm Creek has two wins and a second in her last 3 starts at today's 1 mile distance. She should get a cozy trip just behind the early leaders here and looks like the one in a race where the morning line looks solid.

Race 8: #3 Mollie O (15/1) romped against much weaker on the turf here a month ago for trainer/part-owner Bill Delia and now returns to the Tapeta (where she's hung twice on the line). She does own some good numbers on the synthetic and her 3/1-2-0 mark speaks to that. Hoping to get all of that 15/1 at post time. The Ordonez trainee Runfasterelse is the one to beat for sure.
