Race 6: The connections of Seattle Slew provide us our pick here - #3 American Council (6/1). In a race that will come off the turf, the Rene Amescua trainee stretches out for the first time today and coming off that good 4th versus better last out, she should prove tough here. Two works since that November 9th tilt and this being her 3rd start off the layoff, it looks like today's the day for the daughter of Council Member to break her maiden.

Race 7: #8 Wheels of Fire (20/1) just finished a clear 2nd behind lone "F" winner Scott's Spirit in a restricted bottom-level $4,000 conditioned race here on November 9th. He faces beaten 4's today for Pitnick, but has the ability to run a smasher from off the pace - and with Scott's Spirit back in here (and likely to face challengers on the lead), we could get a run for our $$$ in the lane at a fat price with Carr in the saddle.

Race 8: Unlikely that #3 Music Appeal (15/1) can get the job done in this tough AOC event, but should produce a better effort here for Martinez. An even-running 5th at this condition on November 11th, he would have to improve some 5 lengths to compete for the win, but with the expected early pace to be quicker today, that will help aid his stretch kick (as evidenced by his September 7th smasher) and you know we'll get over 20/1 on this dude at post. Stranger things have happened......
