There's some money to be made on the Golden Gate Fields cards this Sunday afternoon. The plays:
Race 2: #1 Miner's Pic (10/1) has certainly perked up off the badly-needed 2 month break. She's reeled off a tough-beat 2nd and in her last race, a strong 2 1/4-length win versus conditioned 4's on April 29th for owner/trainer Tim Bellasis (barn stablemate Peek a Boop ran 2nd). She steps up to this tougher open 5 level today, but has fared well versus better in the past on the Tapeta and her off-the-pace style suits well in this spot. Losing Juan Hernandez today (to the Diaz mare) is the lone negative.
Race 4: Sticking with the hot connections and equally streaking mare in #6 Smarty Corn (7/2) in this optional $62,500 fray. The Papa Hess trainee has reeled off two straight wire jobs for the connections and made it look easy when dispatching 4 rivals at 2/1 on the Lakeside Turf Course on April 21st. Two works since, there's really no other speed in this field to bother her and she shortens up to a mile. Three-bagger in sight.
