Dial Or Nodial stopped Golden Receiver's 2013 unblemished skein at six, pacing his back half in 53.3 uncovered to win the $30,000 winners-over handicap pace at Harrah's Philadelphia Friday afternoon in 1:49.4.

Golden Receiver, 1-5 despite being assigned the outside in the field of seven, made his customary early charge to the top and set (for him) pedestrian fractions of 27.1, 55.3, and 1:22.3. But David Miller had Dial Or Nodial in gear down the back and wrested clear command turning for home, then held off pocketsitter Fred And Ginger by a length, with Flem N Em N third, and Golden Receiver next in line. Jim Campbell conditions the victorious homebred career winner of $1,738,908 for Fashion Farms.

And that crashing sound you heard from Philly about 3:52 p.m. was the tote board tilting after the show prices were posted: Dial Or Nodial paid $17.00, 7.00, and 31.00; Fred And Ginger returned $8.20 and 27.60; and 18-1 shot Flem N Em N rewarded his scattered backers with $68.20 for a $2 show ticket.
