Ray Paulick comes up with some suggestions. (He's asked that his entire columns not be posted here, so you'll need to follow the link.)

A BETTER HALL OF FAME
By Ray Paulick
Friday’s induction ceremonies for the National Museum of Racing’s Hall of Fame figures to be a proud and emotional day for jockey Eddie Maple, trainers Bob Baffert and Janet Elliot, their families, and the connections of Silverbulletday, Tiznow and Ben Nevis II—who comprise the 2009 class that will be enshrined.

One thing the Hall of Fame does is put on a good show at the annual ceremony, an event, held at the Fasig-Tipton sale pavilion, and draws a big crowd of racing fans and past inductees to this exclusive club.

All of this year’s inductees made their mark and are worthy of such an honor.

To be sure, however, there are changes that can be made to improve the eligibility, nomination and voting system. ...
I hate it when I don't forward chain letter and I die the next day!

Alex Solis should have been in 5 years ago! He is so deserving. Im not sure what more he needs to do. Please dont say Kentucky Derby either. Eddie Maple didnt win it. Solis has accomplished so much more than Maple. More wins, Purse earnings, G1 wins, everything really. Its like comparing apples and oranges. Solis should have gotten the nod before Maple.

Havent they black balled him enough already. PLEASE LET HIM IN 2010!
