Zenyatta

Nice win by her, but one of her main weaknesses could be a slow pace, :48 4/5 to the half.

Unimpressive win, but she still got the job done.

Hope they run her in the Pacific Classic, I think they'd be doing a dis service to her if they don't.

Oh, and Rachel would beat her ;)

Nice little win...

Smart move to keep her in So. Cal.

Rachel would seem the have a pace edge, but the way Rachel came home in the Preakness Zanyatta would have n by her that day. Todays race was 1 1/16 and Zenyatta was motoring the last 1/8th (last quarter probably 22 and change for her+ 8 wide). Think it would all come down to race shape as to who would beat who.

Agreed on the ride, the fact she is undefeated with her running style and Mike Smith is all the more impressive, almost shocking that he has not gotten her beat up to now. He almost did today.

Nature Boy got very lucky. Zee is 10X the best out there, and he almost got her beat.

It amazes me that some of these jocks ride for 20 years, and then in a G1 race the clock in their head malfunctions. I guess they call them "pinheads" for a reason.

However she did win, so as the late, great Chick Hearn would say "no harm, no foul".

I think we will see her next in the Pacific Classic..or at least I'm hoping to..would quiet some of the haters..

Just looking at the Raw Fractions 48 3/5, 1:13 3/5, 1:43 1/5 she overcame a 24 4/5 from the 1/2 to 3/4 ( which is stealing time ) & then flew home in 29 3/5 from the 3/4s. Thats about a second & change faster than main track 1 1/16 races regardless of the circuit. Even most 1 1/16 Turf races don't figure out that way in terms of a closing fraction

I don't know the times but I saw both races a week or so apart...

And I just don't see her closing into that Informed - Mast Track stretch run'

and then there's Rail Trip and his friends... I don't think Z catches those guys

and then there's Rachel about 4 lengths in front of everybody.

I'm So Cal longer than anybody here but I see her staying home and against the girls
if she wants to keep on winning.

Conjecture from the DRF:

http://www.drf.com/news/article/106236.html

Shirreffs and Jerry Moss, who owns Zenyatta with his wife, Ann, have made no commitments to her next start, but seem to be leaning toward the Lady's Secret at Santa Anita's Oak Tree meeting as a final prep to their year-end goal, the Breeders' Cup.

If that is true, it sounds like a plan to take on Personal Ensign's record by keeping Zenyatta in female company.
I bet on a horse at ten-to-one. It didn't come in until half-past five.
My horse was so late getting home, he tiptoed into the stable.
