Second Stride Charity Handicapping Contest 8-8-09

Postby CatThiefofKy » Fri Aug 07, 2009 12:52 pm

I hope this it is still OK for me to post about charity handicapping contests here. If not, I understand....

Second Stride is hosting a charity handicapping contest using 6 Stakes races that will be run on Saturday, August 8th. All proceeds will go directly to Second Stride. My husband is letting me use his site, which is already set up to take donations which will go directly into Second Stride's PayPal account. The contest description is here:

If you would like to test your handicapping abilities, and help some retired TB's be retrained and rehomed, but are not already a Horse Patties Forum Member, you can sign up with just an email address, which will not be revealed or used in any other way.

If you have any questions, just let me know. If these contests continue to be a source of much needed funds for Second Stride, we may look into finding a place to host the contests seperate from the Horse Patties contest, which is a bit confusing. But for now this works, as we can set it up there and not pay any additional costs.

The prize list continues to grow, I just haven't had a chance to list them yet. But I am confident whoever wins, will not only have big time bragging rights, but will also find I have something stored away somewhere they will like. If the winner is local, or has plans to visit Kentucky some time, I also have a list of donated "experiences" such as spending time in the CD's announcer booth and watching the races while Mark Johnson calls them, or getting to meet a favorite horse in person, or getting to use one of boxes at Keeneland or CD that are normally used by the big stud farms. Really, I know I can come up with something special for whoever wins.

Thanks again for your past support of Second Stride. We have taken in and placed well over 100 horses since forming Second Stride, but there is still a waiting list, and contests like these can help us move a few more off the list, and into our program.

PS,

I will be out for a while this evening, but will check back, and be able to answer any questions tomorrow morning.
